10 things you should never pack in your checked bag

A timely reminder prompted by our recent discussion about taking lighters on an airline.

Thanks to Canuks for the original link.

Interesting…I always pack a few in my checked as well. Especially when going through Cuba as they like to take them from your person.

But now that you don’t have to put them in a plastic bag when going through Canada or the US, I generally don’t need to pack them in my checked.

All but the food and drink make sense. My suitcase is mostly full of groceries and tequila coming home from Mexico. I have had a beer explode in there, but that’s what Ziploc bags are for, right? Funnily enough, it was on a low-flying flight from Cozumel to Cancun that the beer went boom.

In Singapore, airport authority asked me to open up my luggage because I checked in a lighter and perfume, both flammable items, they asked me to remove it. I have also checked in chips in my luggage and it exploded spoiling my towel lol
