i stayed there when it iwas oasis canoa, is the beach better I say yes, maybe not for walking as far, but you can walk along way, but the sand is soft, white, not strewn with garbage, not full of vendors, not over run with power boats,

one one side you have a national park, head the other way you have more hotels

water clear, the water here is by far calmer and more brilliant blues then the water in PC, you can lay on your back in the ocean here and not have waves crash over you,

now if you want all the activities to watch, IE: party boats, para sail, water taxis ect, its not at this beach,
but if you want to relax and enjoy crystal clear water this is a great spot

Thanks nothernale1…one other question is are you able to do any snorkleing from the beach there?

yes there is lots of places, they have also created a false reef out front,

plus lots of live coral around as it hasnt been all trampled on,

the hotel its self is good, i would go back for the right price,

and whats nice with that area is you can put the word pristine in front of beach, unlike PC now

How long would it take to get to this Hotel if you fly into Santo Domingo?
Do they serve Pesidente?

Thanks…looks like a nice spot. Look forward to being able to snorkle right there.

yes Dominicus is a short walk from resort, nice little town,

nice good sized casino just outside of town, they had shuttles that would come pick you up at the hotel,

nice snorkel trip is with http://www.seavisbayahibe.com/ … 2 island tour looks great

I had a friend that went to Bahia Principe in La Romano and she was really disappointed as she said water was really murky. Is the Canoa near there …just worried about the water…?

since it is a fairly long drive I enjoyed being on the shuttle with other hotel guests, we got the shuttle to stop for beer, then had a good chat with other people on the bus,one couple was staying at the same resort as us, and they were alot of fun to visit with the whole week, then on the way back got to ask the others about there stay at other resorts,

Thanks northernale1…I agree so we are going on the shuttle. Half the fun of the trip is meeting new people. We are still friends with several couples that we met on our DR trips.
We just today booked the Be Live Canoa at a smoking deal for 8 nights , leaving the first of May. We are excited and really appreciate the help you have given us. We hold you responsible for this being a great trip!..lol only kidding!
To put it all in perspective, we met a couple a few years back in PC that had been to the DR 17 times! I asked them of all the resorts they had stayed at which was their favorite? …Their answer was …The one I am at!!! That is how we feel. Go with the flow and have fun…you are on vacation!
Thanks again!

Im sure you will like it, Canoa is a decent resort, lots of entertainment, the beach is great , on one side you have Iberostar other side you have parklands, its a close walk by beach or road to dominicus, plus they also have shuttle service, dominicus is a nice little town, very clean and european, as you head towards public beach in dominicus there was a guy cooking chicken BBQ in a old oil barrel style BBQ, it is awsome, dominicus also has nice casino

have your camera out for the ride, pretty impressive drive, that bridge you cross is along way up…

one thing i would take is a floating lounger, the ocean is so calm and warm there you can float around for hours

dont forget the bubbas,hehe

also be interested in your opinion of the beach difference when you get back,

I like it better then PC, would have done south coast this winter if I didnt get the deal I did for PC

Bubba is only thing I have packed at this point…lol
Definitely let you how we think beaches compare.
We think we will do the two island tour with http://www.seavisbayahibe.com/ …Can we book with someone when we get to DR . Would there be guys selling it on Beach? Which way do you think would be best?
Thanks
