? Cacoa Beach Resort Samana? Hotel review?

#1

There doesnt seem to be a review of this hotel anywhere on Debbies. Was it called something before?? How long is the beach infront of it, do other hotels share the beach? Wher exactly is the hotel situated? The SUNWING Brouchere is very VAGUE on its location??

Do you fly directly into the SAMANA AIRPORT from Canada or do you go to thew PUERTO PLATA AIRPORT??

Thanks ??? ??? ???

We are travelling with Sunquest (flying Skyservice) in February to Samana and we have been told that while the flight lands in POP we are not to get off as they will do the passenger exchange and then continue on to El-Catey to drop us off. On the way home its a direct flight from El-Catey to Ottawa (as the flight has already done the POP portion).

I’m not sure if Sunwing is using Skyservice out of Ottawa for Samana destinations or if they are flying you themselves to POP and busing you.

Cacao Beach Hotel was not renamed, although it was closed for some time and was used as a casino also.
Last time I drove by, I again saw tourists on its beach which is an ‘open’ beach.
It won’t be crowded, however, as it is a good stretch and not crammed between other hotels.
The resort is about half a mile to the west of the river mouth …therefore some people call it Caca Beach…
The hotel is popular with visitors who prefer to stay within walking distance to the town centre.

You can start here: http://www.samana.net/maps-en.html
for some maps of Samana Peninsula and Las Terrenas,
such as this :

Hotel Cacao Beach is in Las Terrenas, North-West from “Pueblo de los Pescaderos”, a cluster of beach type of restaurants and bars.

a good map of Las Terrenas in PDF format is here:
http://www.samana.net/storage002/lt-map2006.pdf

Need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDF format files.
For any more information on this hotel, PM me. Don’t expect a review or derogatory comments from me, information only.

Here is the Hotel Cacao Beach location marked on Las Terrenas map:

or a satelitte view from “Google Earth”

The round BLUE object is the “Casino-Restaurant-Disco” at hotel Cacao Beach. The X is the beach in front of the hotel.

Distance from the hotel to “Pueblo de Los Pescaderos” cluster of restaurants and bars is 400 meters or a quarter of a mile.

it’s not that hard to get to that beach once your in samana from downtown going to up it’s on your right up a hill the hotel is on your left on the hill and the beach is on the right going down the hill but I rather go to cayo leventado better the water is my cleaner and you can see where your going.
