Car Rental in Varadero please help

hi everybody

i am going to Varadero in 2 days and i would like to rent a car for a day or maybe 2 to go to havana

any ideas of prices and best place to rent

thank you

Havana’s a walking city, and if you get a hotel or casa in Habana Vieja, there is probably no need for a car, unless you have mobility issues. You can take the Viazul bus for about $15. or negotiate with a tour bus driver going in for the day, or arrange a car and driver who will also give you a tour.

Cars in Cuba are not easy…

thank you for your reply and how about casa in Habana Vieja do you suggest any?

thanks

I’ve stayed here - http://casamercedes.awardspace.com/ - twice. It’s up quite a flight of stairs, so I’d suggest travelling with only a small bag to Havana, although Jorge will help you with your luggage.

It’s not fancy, but the location is superb - only two short blocks from the Hotel Inglaterra and the Teatro Garcia Lorca and walking distance to everything.

Agree with WW, a rental car is waaaay more hassle than it’s worth for a 1 or 2 day trip into Havana. It’s much cheaper to take the bus (12 CUC each way) and more convenient to use taxis in town.
