??? so my hubby just told me we are going on vacation to DR from Dec 28 for 1 week… he told me we are staying at Grand Oasis Bavaro… now reading reviews etc… I’m totally confused…

let me know if I have this right…
*from what I’ve read Grand Oasis Bavaro is attached? to Grand Oasis Punta Cana…??
*people staying at bavaro can use the GOPC but they can’t use GOB?
*what are the chameleon suites?
*the grand oasis bavaro used to be called the bavaro suites?
*reviews on the GOPC are not good (peeling paint, moldysmelling rooms), reviews on GOB seem very positive?

  • are they attached?

hmmm anyone out there that can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated…

Cameleon Suites are the buildings that are allocated to Nolitours, Buildings 9, 10 and 11

after it loads click on ( view full-size image – 1970 x 2550)

Immediately to the right on the map of #10 and 43 is the new section of the Grand Oasis Bavaro (currently under construction)

The Balance of the resort will then be renamed Grand Oasis Punta Cana, Building #7 is the newest of all the buildings. I was there Oct 5-12th and never saw any signs of mold, peeling paint etc and I was in rooms in building #7, #2 and #11. The worst area I saw on the resort was around the pool and swim up bar #20 and #22 which according to management will be refinished when the adition to reesort is completed. The pool and bar #15 and #16 was quite nice. See my review http://www.debbiesdominicantravel.com/travel27.html

thanks very much for the clarifications!!!

I read your reveiw- but then the next few after were pretty bad…then there were a couple of good ones after… other sites seem to have the mixed reviews as well- in anycase I’m looking forward to the vacation…

Thanks again

you are going to get good & bad reviews at any resort that you go to, you have to take them with a grain of salt

Here’s what I do…
Toss out the glowing reviews, toss out the most negative…the truth is somewhere in the middle.
I do however make note of the complaints…if all the complaints are different…well that’s just different expectations from different folks.
If all the complaints are about the same thing, then perhaps there is a problem and if that issue is something you are concerned about maybe you should avoid that resort.
