Costa Caribe and snorkeling

We are just in the process of booking a trip to DR to the Costa Caribe. Any comments on food and items that we really, really would need there would be helpful - ie: pillows. :)And, we would like to know what the snorkeling is like off the hotel beach. No one can seem to answer that one. thanks!

We have stayed at the CCC 4 times in the last 7 years…so can probably help you with any questions you may have…

One thing for sure, if you are taking any electrical items, make sure you take an extension cord with two pins… and cut the pins down so they are both the same size ( non polarized ). Pillows were very thin last time we were there which was in Jan 2007.

As for snorkelling, there is a man made break wall about 250 yards off the beach… there are quite a few fish near the wall and also towards the right hand side of the swimming area. Take little pieces of bread or better yet, little pieces of banana…they seem to love it. Wear water shoes though if you have them…along the breakwall and outside of the swimming area is a little rough on the bottom.

They reclaimed some beach in 2007, making the sand area almost 3 times as wide as it was before.

Again, we were there last in January 2007…and were there four times back to back…we loved it.
