Cuba withdrawals

Do you experience Cuba withdrawals once you are back home from your vacation? I personally do as felling that I was somewhere full of energy and than suddenly that energy is gone. It could be that on the beach I get lots of natural vitamin D while in cold winter my body can not produce that needed vitamin D. Do you experience Cuba withdrawals once you are back home from your vacation? How do you feel?

For CWS there is no cure. Only solution is to book another trip down. This will at least help with the symptoms. We have been toying with the idea of trying somewhere different but our hearts belong to Cuba.

My own personal Cuba Withdrawal Symptoms recently experienced:

Lack of being in Cuba impairs performance…

Let’s say that a person who needs a Cuban vacation twice a year, can only go once or perhaps even missed a year’s trip. This vacation loss can have a major impact including:
Reduced alertness
Shortened attention span
Slower than normal reaction time
Poorer judgement
Reduced awareness of the environment and situation
Reduced decision-making skills
Poorer memory
Reduced concentration
Increased likelihood of mentally ‘stalling’ or fixating on one thought
Increased likelihood of moodiness and bad temper
Reduced work efficiency
Loss of motivation
Errors of omission – making a mistake by forgetting to do something
Errors of commission – making a mistake by doing something, but choosing the wrong option

Micro Vacation – brief periods of involuntary excapes that range from a few minutes to a few hours in duration… playing Cuban Music… reading online Cuban reviews… participating in Cuban forums… watching YouTube videos of Cuban resorts and/or favourite Cuban destinations… enjoying a Cuban rum or cigar… turning up the indoor heat…

wow Gardengal that is amazing list of symptoms that I have as well. Thank you very much for summarizing everything in one post and I like the way how you cure it with Cuban rum or cigar
I listen Cuban music as well and it helps most of the time as well as watching youtube videos and participating in Cuban forums.

The only positive thing of all once I am back from Cuba is that I feel my car drives much smoother. I am not sure is that only with me or others have same feeling?

CWS causes victims to hang around travel forums and exchange information with others suffering from the same malady.

OMG, it’s an epidemic!!! Call the National Guard… or your closest travel agent! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll add 2 obvious symptoms to the list for this strange malady:

  1. the sensation of hearing waves. This sensation, unfortunately for some, wears off after a few days…
  2. the urge to smell the inside of your suitcase, or, in the worse cases, to sleep with your swimwear on your pillow. :o

I knew I had a very healthy immune system but didn’t realize I’d be the only one not afflicted with these symptoms. Just like any vacation, I go, have a great time, get on the plane, come home and get back on with my life - just a memory. Then I start thinking about when and where to go next.

You’re not alone SharonAnn! We don’t get CWS anymore either.
