Cycling in Cuba - November 2009

I have some information about a 2 week bike trip through Cuba being organized by a Norwegian group called “Bikes for Peace” for next year. It looks like an easy trip for even beginner cyclists, with an option to travel further in a day, or ride in the support van except for the 60 kms cycled per day. This is the only organized cycle trip I have found in a few weeks of looking that goes to Maria La Gorda on the western tip of the Island. It also included Viñales, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Santa Clara - starting and ending in Havana. There will be an English guide.

The cost is 1050 Euros (about $1700? Cdn today). Not sure about what I can and should post here as this is not resort related, but I just wondered if there would be any interest.

Westwoman, a recently retired coworker is into bicyling holidays and had asked me if I knew of these types of holidays offered for Cuba. I couldn’t help him out then but I will now pass your info onto him. He really wants to visit Cuba but wants a bike vacation. Thanks for the tip.
