Destination weddings


Heading to a destination wedding at Memories Cayo Coco this winter 2016 and we are wondering is it expected to give / bring a gift for the Bride and Groom. Is there some type of etiquette for destination weddings? I mean going there is actually a gift in its own :sunglasses: :slight_smile: but would like to know what others do.


IMHO your presence would be more than enough if you coming to my wedding and you are paying for your trip.


There are several schools of thought. By attending a destination wedding and using the same travel agency you are already paying for much of the room cost of the bride. The couple is also saving $25,000 or so by not putting on a reception and party while receiving gifts of $75 to $150 per invited couple.
For us, it would depend on the closeness of our relationship.
Maybe, like tipping, it’s up to each of us to decide.
