Dreams La Romana Casino

The AMResorts fact sheet for Dreams La Romana Resort and Spa states an on premise Casino. Does anyone know if this has been completed or is it planned for the future?

The Casino is open a couple of weeks ago I heard they had card games and were waiting on the slots…

When I get down there on Friday I will find out more and post for you!

What I hear is that it hasn’t taken off in popularity yet. Maybe as we move into high season and out of the holiday festivities that the hotel has been offering people will be looking for more diversions. I plan to visit to help populate the room since I know that makes it more exciting, but I’ll leave my money in the room!

We were at Catalonia Dominicus last week and people were taking taxis to the Dreams Casino. Cost was $10 each way. Catalonia is right next door to the Iberostar.

not seeing the Dreams casino I cant compare, but there is a beautiful new one right near the Catalonia, how I miss Dominicus, lovely little town,

Do you mean Casino Dominicus? I thought that was closed.

really didnt know that , it was just new, so is the casino at Dreams a kind of replacement,???

It’s my understanding that the Dominicus casino was a private enterprise and had nothing to do with any resort. I assume the Dreams folks made their own independent plan for a casino, but they’re probably not unhappy that it failed.

Kaki would know for sure as she toured the Dominicus casino before it closed. But, lucky her, she’s currently in the DR for two weeks and perhaps losing a bob or two in the Dreams casino.

Patty’s got the answers!

Casino Dominicus was run by an international outfit with international management and an office in Florida. They have “temporarily” closed but there’s no cited date for reopening.

Those in the area staying at other hotels can indeed access the Dreams casino (and disco) paying for an evening pass which costs $45. You can use the casino and disco and all that involves (drinks). You can also pay $85 and make a night of it: dining, catching the show, being a hotel guest in all respects except for having a bed.

The casino has 21 slot machines, 2 roulette tables, 5 black jack tables and another larger games table.

So far I’m keeping my bobs to myself, though at check in I received a “chip” worth $2 a day! Maybe on the last night…in case I decide I like it!
