I don’t take many photos of my food when I travel (when did that trend start?) but here are a few I pulled from my Cuban file.
Sometimes in Havana I just want a great burger and fries and Miramar’s El Palenque (Calle 17) is the Cuban spot for it.
And of course, what’s Cuba without some “street pizza”, this one from Bombay Pizza (on Animas just west of Prado)
In keeping with the street food theme, how about some Arroz Frito (fried rice) on Calle Obispo in Havana Vieja. And that price is 10.00 CUP, or about $0.50 CDN but either bring your own utensil or do as the Cubans do and make a spoon from cardboard!
And never wander Havana without stopping for some fresh, hot and sugary Churros from a street vendor like this guy on Carlos Tercero. And that’s $2.00 CUP or about $0.10 CDN.
And what better than Un Tubo de Cerveza con Camerónes a la parrilla at La Taberna de La Muralla in Plaza Vieja.
Porkchops with onion, rice, fries and vegetables for 5 CUC at Trattoria Maraka’s on Calle ‘O’ in Vedado.
And this was my dinner at a Casa Particular in Vinales. Awesome meal
And my First Class meal on Cubana (YYZ-HAV)
