19 of us would like to take are parents on a All Inclusive vacation for one week in June 2006. It will be their 50th wedding annivesary. We would be from ages 1 to 76 please tell me your opinions on which one to choose. We would like good food and a casino. Golf would also be a plus. Thanks
Punta Cana or Puerto Plata?
For that spread of ages and wants I would suggest the Gran Ventana in Playa Dorada. On the beach for the kids, near the Plaza for the shoppers, walking distance to Jack Tar Casino and Mangu’s Disco. Loads of rooms, restaurants and space for a big family and possibility of some if not all rooms together. Quiet pool and fun pool and kiddies pool. Also for the Golfers, the Robert Trent Jones designed golf course, 9 or 18 holes available, clubs, caddies and carts all available for hire if you need them. A bit pricey I’ve been told but hey you’re on holiday!!!
Cheers Amandalou :-*
Breezes Puerto Plata has a kids program with lots of stuff for all ages and a great pool with a kids area, two waterslides, a lazy river and swim up bar. They have an on-site casino and disco plus a shuttle service into both Sousa and Cabarate for shopping. They have a few stores on site but they are pricey but the vendors come to the resort twice a week. They have a good buffet plus 4 al-ac-carte restaurants that are pretty good.
Breezes in Punta Cana is also a good chice, IMHO. It has a casino on site, discotheque, 5 restaurants, the beach is lovely, merchant on the beach a few short minutes away, big pool, mountain climbing, amphitheatre…
Punta Cana is so pretty…beautiful beaches! If this is your parents first visit to the DR and their golden anniversary they would absolutely love Punta Cana. Your best bet is to speak to reputable TA and try to find the best group rate. There are sooo many resorts to choose from. If you can get some good rates, then it will narrow your choice down and give you an idea on which resort would be more suitable for your parents. Some resorts are quite big, so it also depends on the atmosphere that you are looking for as well. Happy Anniverary, Mom and Dad! Lucky parents!
Good point! With 19 people travelling, you should be able to get a good group rate.
