Iberostar beach and ocean

Could someone describe the beach and ocean at Iberostar Costa Dorado? I searched and found some comments that there is shade for lounge chairs. I’d like to know: Is it large or small? Good swimming or rough water? Sandy or rocky bottom? Any snorkling potential? Thanks, Al :sunglasses:

I was there in May for a wedding pictures here

I wouldn’t think the snorkeling would be good there. Most of the organized trips go out to the little island just offshore and a few miles to the east of Playa Dorada.

The beach area is quite wide. The waves have never been rough on our trips, there is a bit of reef further out which probably breaks the waves. The bottom is sandy, however there is a clump of reef in the middle of the roped off swimming area. It is marked with a rope and is easily avioded and there is plenty of reef free swimming space. There are a few fish to see around the reefy spots.
