Overdevelopment on Samana Peninsula

Does anyone know what the general feel is concerning new development on Samana Peninsula. With El Catey Int. Airport and the new highway planned between Santo Domingo and the peninsula it seems there’s a lot of new construction and real estate prices are rising.

Can anyone who’s spent some time in the area say where the development might be leading? What’s the danger of this becoming a Dominican Cancun? Are there still remote corners?

here is what I can say the new highway is good cause to go to samana is 4hrs to get there and samana has been isolated for so many years plus the old president at the time any outsiders to visit it’s good for samana to open up I should know my family is from there
