Passport?

#1

Hi,

Just wondering if you need a passport if you are going from Canada? We have a direct flight to Jamacia from Calgary. My son’s passport seems to be taking longer to process than we were told. I heard you do not need one as long as you do not connect in the U.S. What would happen if we did have to touch down for some unforseen reason ???
Leaving for Riu Ochos Rios March4th !!!

I am under the impression that if that plane has to land in the US then you better have a valid passport or off to jail you go. I would check it out to be sure.
Have a great vacation.
