The iberostar grand and the excellence. The reviews of the rough non-swimable water at the excellence concerns me as I love to play in the water. Also have read the excellence rooms are out dated. Any help would be much appreciated.
OK, you can’t ‘swim’ at Excellence, but you sure can have a ball playing in the waves there. And, if you want to swim, you don’t have to walk too far up the beach, towards Sirenis. Then you get behind the reef again and the water calms down considerably (most days). On the other days you likely wouldn’t be able to ‘swim’ at either resort.
We found a swim spot if you go right as you get on the beach at excellence. It is calmer and protected by a reef.
We found it on our beach walks toward the sirrenis
Thank you both so much. Any info on excellence rooms?
Can’t help you there. We stayed at Sirenis and walked up (several times) to play in the waves. I seem to recall that it was about 10-15 minute walk, depending on your pace. It should be about a mere 5 minute stroll from the Excellence beach to the swimming spot(s) Steve mentioned.
