Question re: best room location at Catalonia

I am booked at the Catalonia in Feb, can anyone suggest the best location in the resort to request? I want to send just one request to the resort. Is there oceanview? If not would a central location be advisable? Any bad spots for excessive noise or poor view? We enjoy having morning coffee on the balcony with something to see. I appreciate the experience of the members on this forum very much and this year I will endeavour to send a review!

the catalonia is layed out like many other resorts…lobby area with restaurants, shops, disco, and casino furthest from the beach, and pool area and beach restaurants close to the beach…there a re several bldgs close to the ocean, we stayed at the second one in, but you are also close to the pools…about 100 ft from our patio! this area is noisy in the afternoon but very quiet at night, while it is the reverse for the lobby area…depends what you want…or somewhere in between the two and its quiet all the time!

We just got back yesterday. We were in Villa 24. We had sent an e-mail asking for a building closer to the beach, but in actuality, this building was perfect because it was right in the middle of everything. Not too far to the beach and pool…while still not far to the main buffet and bar. To be near the beach (or vice versa) would have been a lot more walking.

By the way, I’m not sure that e-mailing ahead worked too well. I even had a friend translate our request into Spanish and we didn’t really get what we asked for (i.e. a non-smoking room near the beach). We did get a room on the second floor, though, as requested…which is a good thing because our patio door lock was broken. To have that on the first floor would have been a problem…
