Samana/Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado

I have not been there but would also like to know if the Bahia Principe is open to cruisers during their stops in Samana?

Some friends are going in a few weeks and would like to know if they would be able to use facilites at this hotel.

Also, does anyone know of reliable people that can pick people up from the ship to take them to Cayo Levantado instead of taking the tenders?

We stayed at GBP Samana, but took a trek over to GBP Cayo Leventado to take part in the water sports they offer. The resort is REALLY nice.

Of the areas that are open to resort guests, everything is complete. There are still some areas of the resort that are under construction, but from what we saw, and the guests we spoke to, this did not impact their activities.

The cruise ship passengers are not allowed onto the GBP side of the island, and there are guards/walls to keep the two halves separate. On the side that the cruise ship passengers go is a nice beach, a tourist alley of vendors, and a restaurant area, with washrooms/changerooms. This is the side of the island that the whale watching tours drop their passengers on.

the beackes are lovely in april and very warm the weather changes in february to the point you can be in bath suits and get a tan there very fast without going to the beach
