A few years ago my husband I decided to tack a 4 day splurge onto a self catering holiday in Nassau. We went with Sandals. At the end of the day, I can honestly say I doubt I'd spend the money twice. The rooms were beautiful, the amenities plentiful, and most staff were very helpful. That said, we both prefer smaller resorts where the personal touch is a little more obvious. We like knowing the name of the housekeeper, and being greeted by name at breakfast. I find it makes a holiday so much more pleasant when you are treated like a person, not just a guest. That said, we didn't go so far as to get a butler class room so maybe that would change things?
For photos of the resorts, I'd go to tripcentral.com. They have the stock photos, but reviewers upload their own as well.
