Scuba Diving

#1

We are planning on a trip to Cuba in Feb 2013 and I usually try
to get in as many dives as I can . Any help on resorts with good
Dive sites and what does it cost to dive in cuba ?

                   Thanks Gary

I don’t dive but I do snorkel. There is some very good snorkelling and I think decent diving at Jibacoa. Only two resorts on the beach. The four star, Breezes Jibacoa, has a dive boat and the three star, Cameleon Jibacoa will take you locally using a paddle boat. The reef is right there, which makes for easily accessed off the beach dives.

I don’t know which areas of Cuba are easiest to access from Halifax, but Jibacoa is a Varadero destination, although it isn’t actually at Varadero, but halfway between there and Havana, which makes it a good location if you want to visit the capital.

Most places I have been to in Cuba have diving available.

Oh, and I think Cameleon Villas Jibacoa is one of the least expensive. I think they were only charging 20 CUC per dive when I was last there.

Here’s a link to a great site that includes info about Avalon Diving Centres like the one on Cayo Largo:
