Spanky Project in Cuba

Hey we made the front page… above the fold.

Above the fold, between the folds and the back. Good stuff. Great newsletter.

News for you Cat Lovers …
http://www.globalexchange.org/blogs/realitytours/2012/01/11/caring-for-cubas-cats/

We are about to receive 20 cats traps kindly donated by Alley Cat Allies.
These traps will be located near Belleville Ontario.
We are working on positioning some in the Toronto area for pickup.
If you can help with transport to Varadero or Havana message me please. One by one we can get them there.

The traps arrived and are now in Cuba.
We are hoping you can help us up the number.

Hi Radar,

I’ll make a $25 donation to day and I challenge all other posters to do the same.

Thanks Cubamiga.

There have been some reports of donation attempts through PayPal not being successful .
This is via the “Make A Donation” button on our blog.

If you have experienced such let me know here or via private message.
I am in contact with PayPal. As you can imagine they claim no problems on their end. >:(

Turns out that there was in fact a problem with the code on the Spanky Project blog for the Donate Button.
PayPal and I finally got it sorted out.
Seems it affected some and not others.
All should be well now.

Anyone want to test the button?

Hi Terry,
Just tested the Visa/PayPal button and it’s really easy to help.
I think the Mastercard, AmEx and Discover Buttons need immediate attention by our caring Debbie’s Members. ;D
Doesn’t take a lot of cash to help if we all give a little bit. :sunglasses:

Ok, the challenge is still on. My donation finally got through-thanks Terry for making it work.

“Doesn’t take a lot of cash to help if we all give a little bit” we said!
A big thank you to Spunky, cubamiga and the shy others. You know who you are.

We are still in the red from February’s trip. All donations go to supplies. No donations are used for travel.

Just received a lovely hand-drawn thank you card from Justo M Lopez in Havana on behalf of the Spanky Project. Another treasure for our collection.
Marked Air Mail, the envelope was post dated 15 August. Almost a month to get here.

Great to hear Spunky! Four weeks seems to be the norm for delivery.
Thanks again for the donation. New cards are in the works.

We had a great reception talking about Cat Cafe and Dogs on Cayo Largo last week.
Management at Gran Caribe were fantastic. They want to help.
Lots of supportive guests and plenty of Island staff who are interested in helping with our projects.

Thank you Spunky. You initiative and caring that is leading to humane population control for cats and dogs is commendable and appreciated.
Thanks too, to guests. past present and future that will aid the development of this program.

Gran Caribe, at the corporate level, has been very supportive.
Look for programs at their properties on Cayo Largo and at Jibacoa.
The Jibacoa Project will be in collaboration with the great folks of APAC - Varadero.

When do we move to Holguin?

Holquin? I wish we could initiate humane population control everywhere.
With enough support we could.

First time I read this I missed an e. Proofreading is essential!

Either way, it’s still a good idea.

For those that may have missed it…
