Whale watching in Samana

This is our first time to Sosua - we’re staying at Casa Marina Beach & Reef - How far is Samana from Sosua?

Can anyone recommend a good tour for whale watching in Samana? Would it be better to rent a car?

It’s a good two+ hour drive and unquestionably I would recommend Canadian Kim Beddall.

Gregg

I believe Banana Mama in Cabarete also arranges whale watching with Kim

Rick (or anyone else) do you have an e-mail address for Banana Mama?

I agree with Gregg, Kim’s tour is the best. In the past I’ve not found anyone who uses her & arranges transport, so I had to get my own taxi. Anyone else heading there, its more awkward but worth it.

Thanks for the info. We are heading to Puerta Plata Mar 9th-16th.
Would LOVE to go whale watching…is it possible to do a day trip from there to Samana?

Any suggestions are welcomed! It is our first trip to DR and really do not have a sense of distance or what the best day trips are…

Thanks
