Pools warm???
Cooler than the ocean …

Sweater needed in Evening for Mrs.???
Not likely, but take one just in case.

Just got back a couple of weeks ago and found the weather a bit cool in the evening had to wear my jeans for diner (forgot to pack a sweater). It is winter in the DR also… so I would pack a light sweater just in case like BFC recommends.

Just looked at PCMike weather report and this is what he says…. for Dec. 27th.

actually we are since several days on an out of the ordinary sunny side of winter time.
wind down, ocean very calm, sunny, no rain.
but like BFC recommended, i agree to pack 1 light sweater just in case.
we caribeños use still a sweater on nighttime, but that’s an other case.
temps are nice warm actually and still no clouds in vicinity,
but i want to add that such can change within 10-12 hours completely,
it’s the tropics in wintertime, cold high 70’s or low 80’s on daytime,
and frosty low 70’s during the nighttime low point(that’s my sweater time, lol).
ocean temps are hard to describe, they run on 26Celcius now,
but feeling warm or cold is very relative, depends on what somebody is used to, depends if you jump in after a long beach stroll in the full sun or if you come with your cooled down body out of the shaddow. i would describe it like that:
you walk in, it feels for a moment very fresh around the feet, you go on walking, pass that moment where it feels very fresh and the next moment dive in and from then on it feels very warm. right now our ocean is very calm, here in cabeza de toro we have not even a bit of waves at the beach.
happy travel
Mike

edit:
Too many [color=Green]greenies? How is that possible?
That’s what holidays are for …

even when the greenies are ice cold…they still warm you up after a few!!!

Its so close I can smell the sun… T minus 16 hours

Just got back yesterday. Arrived Dec 26, came home Jan 2nd.

Stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Ambar.

The weather was beautiful most of the week. This is their winter, so it can rain. For us, it rained the first few days, but only here and there. The rain was light and there was a breeze. But it was still warm, and the sun came out and we were on with our day. When it rained, we went into the pool bar/restaurant and sat down and ate.

When it didn’t rain, is was really hot! Not much breeze. I usually wear a sweater in the evening, but didn’t have to during my stay.

Have a great time!!

Thanks for the info…glad you had a good time…
