Sorry admin, I don’t come here as often as I used to!! I have only been renting for two week periods, more due to amount of time allowed from work and finances being a little tight! I was there for two weeks at the start of November, rented a house in Puerto Plata first week and an appartment in Cabarete the second.
I managed a trip over the island to Punta Cana to visit two friends, one on holiday there, the other a Dominican friend of many years who is now working there. Got up at five, taxi into town $200, metro bus to Santo Domingo $400, taxi across SD $200 Bavaro coach to Punta Cana $400, taxi to resort $2000!!! Yes it cost more for the last leg than the rest of the journey!! But there are no Moto-concho’s there so bit the bullet and paid, I figured it evened out over the whole journey. Spend the afternoon/early eve with one friend, then rest of eve overnight with second. Next morning returned by the same bus, taxi, bus, taxi route!! Only problem…they like the air con on COLD!!! I had a fleece and a coat on in the coaches!!!
This time as my guest list was reduced I looked at smaller beach front places but they were a lot smaller and lot more expensive so in PP went back to The Three Sisters. Check it out on Trip Advisor, three double bedrooms one ensuite and a bathroom between other two, maids single room with shower/toilet ensuite downstairs plus another toilet downstairs, kitchen diningroom/living room BIG, balcony and roof top sitting area, and around £250 per week depending on time of year.(WIFI included just have to pay for electricity used) I have stayed here several times now, my Dominican friends know where to find me and the local colmado’s deliver no problem. I always get a Dominican sim to be able to call friends, colmado’s etc. Any question feel free to ask here or by email.
